International Course

Gain knowledge and skills on all aspects of creating high-end stills from the biggest name in the ArchViz industry – REDVERTEX. Through this full-time 3 weeks course, you will learn to develop ArchViz images with the proper conceptual foundations, 3D techniques, and artistic aspects. You will be able to meet our world class 3d artists and tutors, and dive in the busy atmosphere of our Sofia office if you choose the In-Class course, or have the flexibility to join from everyware and watch the lectures live or as a recordings. The course will be in English and is recommended for all levels of skills, having this in mind, a basic knowledge of 3ds MAX will be beneficial and experience with either V-Ray or Corona Render engines will be good to have.

After successful completion of the course and assessment you may be invited to join the REDVERTEX team an take your career to another level.

Course overview

We, as CG artists are often challenged with filling in the blanks in the projects that we do. This could vary project by project and you can design anything from a simple façade to entire masterplans. The process of designing in the ArchViz project is a very complex topic and we decided to put it as the main focus of our International academy. We have put together this course by gathering years of professional and training experience. During the course you will be able to create your own unique building and design it from scratch, we will share the most effective ways to build your idea and elevate your design skills. Technical know-how is a crucial outcome of this course, but equally important is to develop design thinking, client communication and understanding. Great emphasis is placed on constant feedback.

To ensure the quality of education we work in a small group and you will be mentored on each step of the way during the entire process. Intensive schedule of lectures and workshops will give you solid foundation so you can start understanding your clients, their needs and how to manage a successful project. At the end of the course you will be able to produce completed high quality images and do complex designs with little to no starting information.

Below you can see detailed program of the course. Each week will be divided between working on project with the rest of the group along with your tutors, as well as working on your individual project.

Week 1 - Creating design concepts from scratch

During this foundational week, you will work on creating your design. Each student will work on two projects for the entire course – one, guided step by step by the tutors, and one unique individual project, that will help you cement the knowledge gained. You will see how to use iterative process in order to build your design as well the proper practical skills that will help you to do design changes quickly. You will constantly receive feedback on your design concept by your tutors, who will get into the role of your clients.

Week 2 - Composition and Lighting

The second week of the course will be all about setting the perfect composition for your images and creating beautiful lighting that will compliment your design. We will do a deep dive of these two topics – we will analyze what makes a great composition great and how we can utilize the powers we have in 3ds max and V-Ray to achieve great results. We will focus also on how we can use the lighting in the best possible way.

Week 3 - Materials and Postproduction

On the last week we will create realistic materials and work on the postproduction of the images in Adobe Photoshop. You will learn how to create realistic materials, render beautiful images and enhance them even more in postproduction – in the last topic we will cover foundational techniques that we will use to create the general mood of the image, as well as creating compelling story with more advanced tools.
